Becky Thorns: Illustrating Stories of Adventure and Everyday Wonder
Becky Thorns is a Cornwall-based illustrator whose detailed and textured artwork captures the spirit of narrative and adventure. After earning a Fine Art degree from Falmouth University in 2015, she has collaborated with publishers and media outlets on a diverse range of projects, bringing her unique artistic voice to life.
Becky finds inspiration in both grand adventures and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. Her experiences living in scenic areas across the United Kingdom, along with her travels around the world, deeply influence her work. Whether creating digitally or with watercolor, Becky enjoys the freedom to illustrate wherever life takes her—be it from a cozy nook at home or while soaring on a flight to Peru.
Animals often feature in Becky’s illustrations, their expressive faces and environments helping to tell captivating stories. Among her favorite subjects are alpacas, whose charm and character frequently find their way into her work. When not illustrating, Becky enjoys exploring the outdoors or unwinding with a good documentary—particularly true crime or the soothing voice of David Attenborough. She shares her home in southern England with her husband and fellow adventurer, Josh, continuing to find inspiration in life’s journeys both near and far.
