Aledanda: Capturing Life’s Emotions Through the Lens

Aledanda is a self-taught photographer whose work reflects a life shaped by travel, family, and a deep sense of curiosity. Born in Milan, Italy, she moved to America at age 20, drawn to the promise of new experiences and perspectives. After living in Hawaii and California, she eventually settled on the East Coast, where she now splits her time between a small horse farm in Pennsylvania and a home in Lake Como, Italy.

Her photographic journey is deeply personal, rooted in memories of childhood, the challenges of motherhood in her forties, and a restless desire to explore. For Aledanda, photography is a way to express the thoughts and feelings that words often cannot capture—she creates images first and foremost for herself, as a form of reflection and connection.

Though not formally trained, she credits her artistic growth to the mentorship of renowned photographers John Paul Caponigro and Alison Shaw, who helped her refine her creative voice. Through her lens, Aledanda invites viewers into her world, where fleeting moments are preserved with honesty and emotional depth. Her work is a testament to the power of personal storytelling and the beauty of finding one’s vision through life’s ever-evolving journey.
